smart T-Platforms Group, Russia’s largest supercomputer vendor, and SmartCom, a Kazakh system integrator, have signed a partnership agreement on supplying HPC solutions to the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyzstan.

According to the agreement, SmartCom becomes T-Platforms` authorized partner, jointly implementing HPC projects and providing comprehensive technical support to the customers in the regions.

SmartCom is to carry Blade2 blade-platform, the flagship T-Platforms` product, designed for building petascale HPC systems. T-Blade2 is used as the building block of the supercomputer “Lomonosov”, Eastern Europe’s most powerful HPC system, installed at Moscow State University. smart1

Partnership with SmartCom has become the next step in T-Platforms strategy of expanding its geographical presence and international background. The year 2009 was marked with signing a number of framework agreements with several international HPC centers and entering the Indian market through a partnership agreement with Digital Waves, an Indian system integrator.
