T-Platforms company has taken part in the 2nd Nanotechnology International Forum (Rusnanotech) that took place in Moscow on October 6-8, 2009.

Rusnanotech is an international platform for communication between science and business, a tool of commercialization of scientific ideas and market promotion of nanoindustry production. This year the event has gathered industry representatives from 36 countries and from over 300 companies.

Within the framework of the forum T-Platforms displayed its in-house developed solutions for high-performance computing: T-Blade 1.1 blade servers and PeakCell S platforms based on 9-core PowerXCell processor.

Besides, T-Services company, a T-Platforms affiliate, for the first time took part in the event. The company introduced its HPC services such as utility computing, large-scale modelling and simulation.

“Nanotechnology is one of the most science-intensive industries. Supercomputing lets not only reduce considerably the terms of research and development in this field, but also reduce their cost, partially thanks to the possibility of replacing part of real experiment with modelling. Moreover, supercomputers let the scientists model the processes impossible to simulate in real life”, says Mikhail Kozhevnikov, VP worldwide sales.
